An impressive showing by Whitgift in the Cyril Gray (essentially the Halford Hewitt for the over-50s). Captain Tony Mason reports –

“I am pleased to report that we had a good run in the CG beating Eastbourne 3/0, Liverpool 2.5/0.5, Edinburgh 2.5/0.5 and Merchant Taylors 2/1 on our way to the final yesterday afternoon (June 28^th). Our opponents were Fettes who beat us in the 3rd round last year. There was a one hour delay a third of the way through the match for lightning and thunder which meant a late finish. Sadly having won the first game and lost the second we ran out of steam and lost the third game and the match.”
