Lord David Freud Invites You to a Spectacular Gastronomic Evening at sketch07/2/2018
CONCEIVED by French Masterchef Pierre Gagnaire of Hotel Balzac, arguably Paris’ best restaurant, sketch has attracted unprecedented media attention since it opened in 2002. The restaurant was awarded its first Michelin star in 2005 and its second in 2012.
Housed in a gracious Grade II listed building in Mayfair, sketch was formerly the headquarters of both The Royal Institute of British Architects and Christian Dior. The exclusive Library and Lecture Room where we will dine is described in reviews as ‘breathtaking’ and ‘fabulously luxurious’ offering the height of comfort and opulence. It is both calm and grand, boasting an original James Wyatt ceiling in the Neo-classical and Gothic style.
The critic Jay Rayner describes the food as ‘seriously impressive’ – a triumph of seasonality embracing exceptionally sourced ingredients and culinary skill. Your meal will be accompanied by leading wines recommended by renowned Wine Director Frederic Brugues who, in 2016, won the prestigious Jury Award for the wine list at sketch.
We are delighted to offer OWs and their guests this rare opportunity to dine at one of London’s finest and most sought-after restaurants whilst, at the same time, supporting the Whitgiftian Association Bursary Appeal which continues our Founder’s tradition of educating talented and deserving boys regardless of their financial circumstances.
OWs and guests who make a minimum donation of £250 per person are invited to attend. You will enjoy a Pommery
Brut Silver Champagne Reception followed by a lavish three-course dinner including fine wines.
In addition, those attending will receive a £50 voucher from sketch to fulfill at a later date. The evening will include a
spectacular auction featuring (amongst many other attractions) the internationally renowned sketch afternoon tea, which
receives rave reviews from all over the world.
Should you not be able to attend, please consider sending a donation to the WA Bursary Appeal (cheques to be made
