We open this year’s Whitgift International Music Competition with a performance from the WIMC 2013 winner, Old Whitgiftian, Dan-Iulian Druţac. With a reputation as one of the UK’s most promising young violinists, and winner of the prestigious Junior Guildhall Lutine Prize in 2015, Dan-Iulian performs alongside our outstanding Whitgift Symphony Orchestra. After a spectacular year of music-making, including a highly successful tour to Italy and a starring role in Whitgift’s production of Hamlet, performing the incidental music from Walton’s film score, this winning combination of Whitgift talent presents a dazzling programme of virtuosic and orchestral splendour not to be missed.
