Change to £10 publications option

It is with regret that the WA can no longer continue to provide the ‘Publications-Only’ annual sum of £10 as an option to non-members. It is many years since this option was first made available and it is simply no longer practical or affordable to print and post copies of the annual OW News to non-members. We are, therefore, discontinuing this service. A letter has been sent to all OWs who are affected by this change.

We would, however, be delighted to welcome new Full Members of the Whitgiftian Association. The cost is just £50 per annum for those living within 20 miles of Haling Park and £40 per annum for those further away (Country/Overseas Membership). For this relatively small amount, you will not only receive the annual OW News, but also the bi-monthly WA Newsletter, have access to the online directory of OWs and be eligible for a range of discounts including discounts on tickets to our events, money-off lettings and purchases at the Whitgift Sports Club, preferential theatre and attraction rates and special offers at select local restaurants. CLICK HERE to find out more.

Upon joining as a full member, you can receive all publications electronically (provided you have an email address) or simply download them from the Members’ Area of the WA website at no extra charge. However, should you wish to continue to receive hard copy versions of publications by post, an additional supplement of £12 will apply for those living in the UK, £20 for those in Europe and £25 for those in the Rest of the World.

We are aware that some OWs were informed many years ago that a £10 payment afforded ‘life membership’ of the Association. The WA relies substantially on members’ subscriptions and I’m sure you will understand that it would not be possible to provide our current level of service to members without setting our subscriptions accordingly. Your support would be very much appreciated and I hope that you will soon be taking advantage of the full range of member benefits, which are constantly evolving and improving.

WA CHAIRMAN
