It is with great sadness that we relay the news that Steve Procter – former Clubhouse Manager – passed away on Friday 10th April.
Steve managed the club from 1993 to 2006. Many of us will share fond memories of Steve’s gregarious presence and the invaluable contribution he has made to the club over the years.
After a long history of health battles, and sadly just 62 years old, Steve passed away peacefully in his home in South Croydon with his wife, Sandi, by his side.
A memorial service to celebrate Steve’s life will be held at the Whitgift Sports Club, Croham Manor Road, next Thursday (30th April).
The clubhouse and bar will be open from 5pm. The service will start at 6pm, seated in the main hall, and will be followed by drinks and buffet food.
Steve’s family have asked that you please refrain from bringing flowers. If anyone would like to make a gesture in honour of Steve’s life please go to http://www.justgiving.com/Mike-Procter. Steve’s son, Mike, has committed to the Prudential Ride London 100 mile cycle event this summer, raising funds for the Stroke Association in Steve’s honour.
